About the Work

Our relation to the day is embedded into each hour, I’ve always felt that each hour of the day has a distinctive color and energy. It varies a bit from day to day, but it’s definitely there. 24 Hours is a work made up of twenty-four short movements. Each movement is a little vignette representing each hour of the day.

24 Hours is written in a way to accommodate many different programming demands. The work can be performed as written from beginning to end or any movement can stand-alone as it’s own entity. Many of the movements can be interpreted in different ways. Some have the ability to be expanded (or diminished) through repeats or other methods.
