As part of their day-long 10th anniversary celebration, Contemporaneous will premiere Portrait and a Dream, an opera about the life, work, and myth of Jackson Pollock. This work is a non-traditional take on the genre. Alongside three singers, Portrait and a Dream integrates recorded interviews provided by The Pollock-Krasner House. More details to come!

Sunrise/Sunset will be performed for sixteen hours to coincides with the rising and the setting of the sun on the summer solstice. The ensemble Contemporaneous will have their performers widely dispersed throughout Liberty Park, creating a musical landscape that is overlooking the 9/11 Memorial. The listeners may freely move through the performers, creating their own individual listening points to reflect on sunlight and the location. The Pequod, to be performed at Lincoln Center as part of the Moby Dick themed concert Toward the Sea.
Flutist Catherine Gregory and harpist Mélanie Genin have commissioned Petuch to arrange his Moby Dick themed piece The Pequod on Infinite Blueness for their multimedia concert event Toward the Sea. The concert will be an immersive performance combining music, text, ambient sounds and visual art. Admission will be free to the public.
